Winsome Waters - the stock audit of 2009
2009 was a great year!. We managed to drain the Top Lake and to add new stock with some new fish up to 40 pounds, bringing the number of good size Carp in the lake to over 200. These fish are fed every day and are now putting weight on rapidly. They will be fifty pounds plus catches in the Spring and they will join the new fifty pounders that have been stocked in this week - 6th Feb 2010.

Carl and Cameron landed 18 fish throughout their week at the lakes, smashing their Carp personal bests and hooking into 4 good sturgeon as well. Carl says "we had a great time at the lakes, thank you all - we shall return ASAP!"
Jeff and Callum's PB's
In the week of 3rd - 9th September both Jeff (dad) and Callum managed to smash their personal bests with fish to 34lb plus and 30lbs plus rsepectively. About their week with us...they had this to say...
Hi Chris,
I have enclosed our P.B's from our week at Winsome waters from 3rd sept.
We had a fantastic week with a fantastic host. Never been so well fed and looked after. We caught 13 fish between us with 12 carp, 4 over 30lb and a sturgeon. All the carp came in the first 4 days but then we had a thunderstorm which knocked the fish off feeding for a couple of days. They started coming back on to feeding just as we were leaving. We missed/lost a few fish but blame Dave for feeding us so much at each meal that we couldn't move for an hour after !
During the storm and shortly after Callum had 2 rigs "bitten off", one on the top lake and one on the bottom lake next night. Maybe the cat in the top lake and the Fugitive in the bottom lake ?
We will definately be back next year, the lakes are a special place to fish and many thanks to Dave and his wife for the fantastic food and for looking after us so well.
